About Me
I live in Marin County with my husband, two teenage daughters, and dog, Jack.
My journey began during my teenage years when I supported my grandmother through her end-of-life journey, at home, amidst the presence of her cherished loved ones. Witnessing her passing allowed me to become comfortable with the idea of death and its enigmas, and I recognized that I could be with death intimately. This sense of knowing persisted as others in my life died, and I ventured into starting a family and navigating the busyness of life with kids.
Despite the twists and turns of life, I had the belief that my path would eventually lead me back to serving in this realm. I was unaware that each job, volunteer opportunity, setback, new skill acquired, or stumble, was intricately guiding me to my rightful place. Training to serve as a hospice and vigil volunteer marked a pivotal moment; companioning hospice patients has been deeply fulfilling. I had found my calling.
I approach this work with reverence for the mysteries of death, acknowledging the limits of my knowledge. By assisting in planning, informing you about available options, respecting and honoring your preferences, and offering compassionate companionship, I aim to ease some fears and help to normalize death. I want to alleviate your burdens, allowing you to live well until the end.
I have discovered my purpose; let me guide you to the threshold.
